Com­pe­ti­tion law pur­sues the goal of free com­pe­ti­tion. In this spe­cial­ist area, we sup­port com­pa­nies in the area of un­fair com­pe­ti­tion, which is also called "fair com­pe­ti­tion law".

Fair com­pe­ti­tion law com­pris­es the rules of fair eco­nom­ic con­duct which every com­pa­ny has to com­ply with when com­pet­ing for the sup­ply and pur­chase of eco­nom­ic ser­vices. It serves to pro­tect com­peti­tors and con­sumers as well as the gen­er­al in­ter­est in undis­tort­ed com­pe­ti­tion.

The law on un­fair com­pe­ti­tion cov­ers in par­tic­u­lar the ap­pli­ca­tion of the law against un­fair com­pe­ti­tion (UWG). The UWG is the le­gal foun­da­tion for the pun­ish­ment of a large num­ber of ac­tions that are con­trary to the ap­plic­a­ble law. It reg­u­lates con­duct, es­pe­cial­ly be­tween com­peti­tors, where it is not un­com­mon for com­pe­ti­tion vi­o­la­tions to oc­cur.

Con­ceiv­able con­se­quences of an in­fringe­ment of com­pe­ti­tion law are the dis­cus­sion of a warn­ing no­tice to­geth­er with a re­quest for a cease-and-de­sist de­c­la­ra­tion, the ini­ti­a­tion of pro­ceed­ings for a pre­lim­i­nary in­junc­tion, claims for dam­ages as well as an ac­tion for an in­junc­tion by a com­pa­ny which be­lieves its rights have been in­fringed by an­oth­er mar­ket par­tic­i­pant.
